History:
Our school was founded in August of 1984, as a ministry of Victory Bible Baptist Church to families desiring a Christian education for their children. Since that time, the school has built an outstanding Christian and academic record and has grown to include all grades, kindergarten through twelfth. Since August of 1986, our school has chosen to use the outstanding A Beka Video (now DVD) program school-wide. This program has proven to be a tremendous tool for our on-site teachers to maintain excellent academic work over multiple grades at once, and enabling our church to provide education for students at all grade levels K5-12th. Our work has been cited as exemplary by many, including the A Beka representatives and staff who have visited us. Our students have consistently scored higher than the national average on standardized testing year after year, with many of our high school graduates excelling in their chosen college fields as well.
Purpose:
Our school was founded for the sole purpose of providing a quality education from a Biblical perspective. VBCS exists to extend the training God expects in the Christian home and of Victory Bible Baptist Church into the school to provide a consistent pattern of godly input and character training into the lives of young people. They are tomorrow’s adults, and we are training them to live effectively for Christ. We believe that God will honor those who honor Him in the education and training of their children, I. Sam. 2:30b, and that every treasure of wisdom and knowledge is found in the Lord Jesus Christ,. Col. 2:3. Our school gives our children the wisdom of God’s Word and God’s perspective in their studies so that they may be truly prepared for life.
The Mission of Victory Bible Christian School:
To train children to believe fully, and abide by consistently the doctrines and standards of the Word of God in accordance with the doctrinal statement of Victory Bible Baptist Church as found in its official church constitution. These doctrines and standards include but are not limited to those listed in our We Believe the Holy Scriptures Teach, which we ask you to read.
Enrollment and Re-enrollment Policy:
Pending testing and interview, VBCS will enroll students in K5-6th grades whose parents fully support and approve our school’s purpose and mission. Students desiring to enroll in our 7th-12th grades must meet at least one of the following requirements: they or their families have been members of our church in good standing for a minimum of 2 years, or they are previous 5th and 6th grade students in good standing with our school faculty from our elementary class. Please contact Cindy Reese or someone in our school office at 781-6970 for full enrollment information. Re-enrollment each year is by invitation only.
Tuition:
Our tuition is a tremendous value; annually - $1750.00 for half-day K5, and $3100.00 for full-day K5 and grades 1-12, with reduced tuition rates ($2650.00) for more than one child. Payments may be made on a monthly basis beginning Aug. 1 and continuing through May 1. Registration fees are due with the initial application and annually at re-enrollment. A family registration fee is available for families needing to enroll more than one child in K5-12th at the same time. Registration is $165.00 per child or $285.00 per family. Extended care for children of working parents is available from 7:00 to 5:00 at nominal additional cost. Four year old kindergarten registration is $90.00 and tuition is $165.00 per month for the 5 day program (9 payments).
Payment Policies:
Monthly payment schedules are available for parents needing enrollment without lump sum payments. Late fees do apply for all amounts due at any time. Full payment of all annual tuition or extended care is required, even though payment is allowed on a ten month basis, regardless of the number of days attended or enrolled. The application fee is refundable only in cases where our school can not enroll a child. Fees and charges are subject to change without notice.
School Day:
Our school doors open at 7:50 (jr./sr. high) and at 7:55 A.M. (K5-6th) with pick-up required by 3:30 P.M. for all students.
Complete Code of Conduct:
The testimony of Christians is very important in today’s world, and this is the reason for our Code of Conduct. VBCS upholds high Christian character as the goal of every student. Students are taught respect, honesty, obedience, compassion, diligence, and appreciation. We want our students to think on “whatsoever things are pure, lovely, and of good report.” Students are not permitted to listen to ungodly music in word, sound, or appearance of performers; nor to watch ungodly television, videos, cable, or movies. The use of, or participation in, tobacco, drugs, alcohol, profanity, racial slurs, dancing, attending movie theaters, immoral practices or gambling are not permitted. In addition, students who possess negative attitudes toward the school, any of its policies, staff, or spiritual matters may not be asked to re-enroll.
Dress Requirements:
VBCS maintains a dress code in keeping with its desire to achieve a Christian testimony and Christian standards in its students. (A fuller explanation of the Dress Requirements is included in this packet.) Our young men are trained to be neat and manly. Our girls are trained to be feminine and modest. Pictures, slogans, writing, and excessive clothing labels are not acceptable. Approved uniforms may be worn in lieu of dress code requirements.
Victory Bible Christian School
We Believe the Holy Scriptures Teach:
- that the Bible in Its original documents is the inspired Word of God. It has been preserved by God for us today, and It is final in Its content, and without error in Its statements.
- that there is one God eternally existent and all-powerful, Creator of heaven and earth and all things, Who is manifested to us in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- that the Lord Jesus Christ is God’s only begotten Son, fully God in the flesh, who came and lived a sinless life here on our earth.
- that He gave up His divine life willingly as the complete and sacrificial payment for every person’s sins, and that He bodily arose again from death after three days.
- that every person needs Christ as Savior because they are lost apart from Him.
- that every person who chooses of their own free will to believe God’s record of His Son, trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior, is sure to go to Heaven. Their salvation can never be removed, lost, or changed in any way. They are eternally secure because their salvation is by grace through their faith in Jesus Christ, and has been accomplished through the finished work of Christ rather than by their own works (as all false religious systems teach by subtlety.)
- that this trust in Christ bringing one salvation is not Biblical saving faith unless it is trust in Christ alone. Christ + baptism, or Christ + obedience, or Christ + surrender do not = Christ alone.
(Explanatory information only: Any individual, group, church, or organization who takes the position that in order to be secure in reaching Heaven, a person must not only “believe” in Christ, but also maintain a certain standard of activities in their life, is in fact teaching a false message which does not lead to actual faith in Christ, but dangerously points people to trust in their own merits for salvation. This error is refuted throughout the New Testament, especially in the book of Galatians.)
- that, having trusted in Christ, a believer should partake of believer’s baptism, communion, and get involved in living for Christ at a local, Bible-believing and Gospel-preaching church.
(Explanatory information only: The desire of our church for every student of our school is not just they be saved, but that their life actually bring credit to the Savior who gave His life for them. This also includes, but is not limited to, teaching our students that their hearts affections should be totally honoring to their Savior. That is, that no other affection should dishonor the loyalty believers owe Jesus Christ, neither should other affections compete with that same loyalty.)
- that it is the duty of every Christian to preach the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.
- that sign gifts were temporary and fully ceased when God’s written record was complete. These include the charismatic gifts such as speaking in tongues, or the Apostolic gifts such as miraculous healing or raising of the dead. As Acts 2:8 states “How hear we every man in our own tongue wherein we were born?”
- that it is God’s will in the present church age that He be revealed to us through His Word and the convicting and enlightening work of the Holy Spirit who indwells every believer at the moment of their salvation.
- that the Lord Jesus Christ will return at any moment to catch His bride, the Church, away.
- that the only form of marriage recognized by God is the union of one man to one woman.
DRESS REQUIREMENTSVBCS revised 2/12/10
We desire for our students a healthy respect for the educational process and themselves which is encouraged by a clean-cut, and not too casual appearance. To achieve this, appropriate dress is required. Students must arrive and depart from the school campus dressed according to code.
Girls - No fad clothing is ever allowed. Modesty and appropriate femininity will be the governing guidelines for the following dress requirements:
1. Dresses or skirts and appropriate blouses and tops are to be worn at all times unless otherwise designated. T- shirts are NEVER allowed for any of our students! Necklines must not exceed three fingers below the collarbone. Full slips and proper foundation garments are required for all girls. Slacks and shorts are not allowed unless required for physical education classes. All blouses and tops must be tucked in unless their hemlines are not designed for that purpose. Blouses may not be worn as jackets (open with underneath clothing showing.) Sweaters and jackets may be worn over dresses and tops if the dresses or tops have collars that show above the sweater.
Dress hemlines for all girls should reach the floor when the student is kneeling; slits are measured in the same manner. Remember that slits can be very immodest when sitting or walking.
Shoes or sandals may be worn, but thongs are not permitted. Socks or hose are also required. (Anklet socks are not considered appropriate school-wear.)
Girls may not wear fad wrist-wear or any other types of fad-jewelry; they may not wear body rings on the nose, tongue, face, etc. One finger ring approved by the administration per hand is allowed. Girls may not wear dangling earrings. All earrings should be on the ear itself. Other jewelry may be worn as long as it is not gaudy or in excess. Girls are to look, dress, and act like modest young ladies at all times. Hair adornments may also not be gaudy or in excess.
Boys - No fad clothing is ever allowed. We do expect our boys to look and act like young men. The following regulations are to be followed at all times:
1. Clothing must always be neat in appearance. Jeans may be worn if they are not labeled, frayed, torn, or faded. NO T-shirts, or shirts with pictures, slogans, or writing are allowed. Pullover shirts that button and have collars, as well as oxford shirts, are acceptable. Shirts must be worn tucked in. Belt loops require a belt.
2. Haircuts must be maintained according to our school policy. This requires boy’s hair to be cut so that it is off the eyebrows, off the ears, and off the collar. Sideburns should be no longer than the middle of the ear. Facial beards are never allowed.
3. Nice shoes must be worn. This includes tennis shoes that are kept nice and clean. Socks are always required (anklets are not considered proper for school wear).
4. Boys may not wear necklaces, bracelets, earrings, fad wrist-wear or other types of jewelry, or body rings on the nose, tongue, face, etc. One watch and one finger ring approved by the administration are allowed. Boys are to look, dress, and act like godly young men at all times.
Any manufacturer’s clothing labels, logos, or insignia must be unnoticeable on all clothing chosen for school. For all our students, if there is ever any question as to whether something is acceptable or unacceptable, the school administration will have complete and final authority determining what constitutes a violation of the dress requirements. MESSAGE-BEARING CLOTHING IS NOT ALLOWED! This includes jerseys, screen-printed pictures and slogans, writing, advertising, university insignias, etc. Discernment should also be applied when purchasing lunch boxes, notebooks, bookbags, and other items for use in our school. No Disney insignia or cartoons of any kind will be allowed in any form on school campus for any reason.
