ADMISSIONS INFORMATION
Pastor and Principal: Dr. Chris E. Shepler Phone: 781-6970
History:
Our school was founded in 1984, as a ministry of Victory Bible Baptist Church to families desiring a Christian education for their children. Since that time, the school has built an outstanding Christian and academic record and has grown to include all grades, kindergarten through twelfth, and a pre-school K4. Since August of 1986, our school has chosen to use the outstanding A Beka Book, Pensacola Christian Academy Video (now DVD) program school-wide. This program has proven to be a tremendous tool for our on-site teachers to maintain excellent academic work over multiple grades at once, enabling our church to provide education for students at all grade levels K5-12th. Students enjoy both live and DVD teaching, and receive extraordinary personal oversight and help. Our work has been cited as exemplary by many, including the A Beka Book and Pensacola Christian Academy representatives and staff who have visited us. Our students have consistently scored higher than the national average on standardized testing year after year, with many of our high school graduates excelling in their chosen college fields as well.
Purpose:
Our school was founded for the sole purpose of providing a quality education from a Biblical perspective. Since God expects Christian parents to train up their children in “the way they should go,” VBCS exists as a ministry of Victory Bible Baptist Church to support parents whose desire is to provide this consistent pattern of godly input and character training into the lives of their young people. Our young people are tomorrow’s adults, and we are training them to live effectively for Christ. We believe that God will honor those who honor Him in the education and training of their children, I. Sam. 2:30b, and that every treasure of wisdom and knowledge is found in the Lord Jesus Christ,. Col. 2:3. Our school gives our children the wisdom of God’s Word and God’s perspective in their studies so that they may be truly prepared for life.
The Mission of Victory Bible Christian School:
To train children to believe fully, and abide by consistently the doctrines and standards of the Word of God in accordance with the doctrinal statement of Victory Bible Baptist Church as found in its official church constitution. These doctrines and standards include but are not limited to those listed in our We Believe the Holy Scriptures Teach, which we ask you to read. Parents desiring to read the entire church doctrinal statement are encouraged to request a copy.
Enrollment and Reenrollment Policy:
Subject to space available, and pending testing and interviewing, VBCS will enroll students in K5-12th grades whose parents fully support and approve our school’s purpose and mission. In addition, students desiring to enroll in our 7th-12th grades must commit to fully supporting our school “We Believe the Holy Scriptures Teach” Doctrinal, our school Dress Code Requirements, and our school Code of Conduct. Any student admitted to our school may be immediately suspended or expelled for conduct or solicitation contrary to our Biblical beliefs and standards of conduct and should fully understand the importance to our school of its Christian mission and purpose for existence.
To apply for enrollment, 7th-12th grade students must also meet one of the following admissions requirements:
1.They or their families have been members of our church in good standing for a minimum of 2 years.
2.They were enrolled at VBCS for 5th and 6th grade and have a record in good standing with our elementary faculty.
3.They are recommended for enrollment by 3 current or past school families who are members in good standing of our church.
4.They are transferring to us from another Christian school or home school with Biblical standards in conformity to our beliefs and with approved, proper transcripts.
All enrollments are subject to pastoral and school administrative approval. Students with a record of previous suspension or expulsion from another school may not be allowed to enroll. Please contact the church/school office at 781-6970 for full enrollment information. Re-enrollment each year is by invitation only.
Tuition:
Our tuition is a tremendous value; annually - $1850.00 for half-day K5, and $3200.00 for full-day K5 and grades 1-12, with reduced tuition rates ($2750.00) for more than one child. Payments may be made on a monthly basis beginning Aug. 1 and continuing through May 1. Registration fees are due with the initial application and annually at re-enrollment. A family registration fee is available for families needing to enroll more than one child in K5-12th at the same time. Registration is $165.00 per child or $285.00 per family. Extended care for children of working parents is available from 7:00 to 5:00 at nominal additional cost. Four year old kindergarten registration is $90.00 and tuition is $185.00 per month for the 5 day program (9 payments). Parents should refer to our preschool brochure for information.
Payment Policies:
Monthly payment schedules are available for parents needing enrollment without lump sum payments. Late fees do apply for all amounts due at any time. Full payment of all tuition or extended care is required, even though payment is allowed on a ten month basis, as outlined in the School Financial Policy and the School Extended Care Registration information. The application fee is refundable only in cases where our school can not enroll a child. Fees and charges are subject to change without notice.
School Day:
Our school doors open at 7:50 (Jr./Sr. high) and at 7:55 A.M. (K5-6th) with pick-up required before 3:30 P.M. for all students.
Dress Requirements:
VBCS maintains a dress code in keeping with its desire to achieve a Christian testimony and Christian standards in its students. We want our students to recognize their worth as individuals created in the image of God, and we do not support the lack of respect for one’s self or one’s creator evident throughout society today. Our dress code supports a neat, positive, and modest appearance in all things. Please read the Dress Requirements included in this admissions packet. Parents desiring to enroll their students in Jr./Sr. high school should ask for the specific dress code for those grades. (Approved uniforms may be worn in lieu of dress code requirements.)
Victory Bible Christian School
We Believe the Holy Scriptures Teach:
- that the Bible in Its original documents is the inspired Word of God. It has been preserved by God for us today, and It is final in Its content, and without error in Its statements.
- that there is one God eternally existent and all-powerful, Creator of heaven and earth and all things, Who is manifested to us in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- that the Lord Jesus Christ is God’s only begotten Son, fully God in the flesh, who came and lived a sinless life here on our earth.
- that He gave up His divine life willingly as the complete and sacrificial payment for every person’s sins, and that He bodily arose again from death after three days.
- that every person needs Christ as Savior because they are lost apart from Him.
- that every person who chooses of their own free will to believe God’s record of His Son, trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior, is sure to go to Heaven. Their salvation can never be removed, lost, or changed in any way. They are eternally secure because their salvation is by grace through their faith in Jesus Christ, and has been accomplished through the finished work of Christ rather than by their own works (as all false religious systems teach by subtlety.)
- that this trust in Christ bringing one salvation is not Biblical saving faith unless it is trust in Christ alone. Christ + baptism, or Christ + obedience, or Christ + surrender do not = Christ alone.
(Explanatory information only: Any individual, group, church, or organization who takes the position that in order to be secure in reaching Heaven, a person must not only “believe” in Christ, but also maintain a certain standard of activities in their life, is in fact teaching a false message which does not lead to actual faith in Christ, but dangerously points people to trust in their own merits for salvation. This error is refuted throughout the New Testament, especially in the book of Galatians.)
- that, having trusted in Christ, a believer should partake of believer’s baptism, communion, and get involved in living for Christ at a local, Bible-believing and Gospel-preaching church.
(Explanatory information only: The desire of our church for every student of our school is not just they be saved, but that their life actually bring credit to the Savior who gave His life for them. This also includes, but is not limited to, teaching our students that their hearts affections should be totally honoring to their Savior. That is, that no other affection should dishonor the loyalty believers owe Jesus Christ, neither should other affections compete with that same loyalty.)
- that it is the duty of every Christian to preach the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.
- that sign gifts were temporary and fully ceased when God’s written record was complete. These include the charismatic gifts such as speaking in tongues, or the Apostolic gifts such as miraculous healing or raising of the dead. As Acts 2:8 states “How hear we every man in our own tongue wherein we were born?”
- that it is God’s will in the present church age that He be revealed to us through His Word and the convicting and enlightening work of the Holy Spirit who indwells every believer at the moment of their salvation.
- that the Lord Jesus Christ will return at any moment to catch His bride, the Church, away.
- that the only form of marriage recognized by God is the union of one man to one woman.
Please Note: Parents or Guardians will be asked to initial the following statement on their application for their child’s enrollment. This statement will cover and refer to all the information in our Admissions Information and “We Believe the Holy Scriptures Teach” that you have just read, as well as our complete Dress Code, Code of Conduct and Financial Policy, which you will read next.
I have read and agree to abide by the school’s purpose, mission, doctrines, Code of Conduct, Dress Code, and Financial Policy.
